James Edward Lowry

James Lowry - Founder and Principal Partner 

James hails from Ontario and spent his “first” career with the Toronto Police Service.

​After years in the various investigative squads in the largest municipal police service in Canada, including Homicide and the Fraud & Forgery Squad, he was appointed to Internal Affairs where he finished his policing career.

After investigating police officers in a very high profile case attracting national media attention, where James was the lead affiant, he was persuaded to try his hand at law.

James brings a wealth of experience as a former designated and qualified Breathalyzer Technician, an investigator, a police supervisor and has degrees from 3 Universities.

James completed a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto, a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa and his Master of Laws from prestigious Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto.

​Lisa Pormeister  - Office Manager

Lisa is a graduate of George Brown College Toronto and has been in customer service for 32 years.

Lisa was with LIFE LABS in Toronto, working with medical practitioners.

Lisa became office Manager at James Edward Lowry Law in April of 2017. ​
Lisa was a member of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority board from May of 2020 to July of 2021. In 2021 Lisa became a member of the Strand Condominium Corporation board. 
Lisa brings a wealth and breadth of knowledge to our firm, and keeps our day to day operations and administration in extremely good shape.
